When fighting it, try waiting a little longer to defeat it, around 5 or 6 turns... see how that goes.

Help!!!! I can't find the entrance to oxskull mountain. I read there is a green path with glitter ,but the only 2 I found in east and
west af the barbarians i Did and fought all monsters.But no way to the oxskull mountain....With thanks in advance Willi
I got it: I had to talk to the Barbarianchief again(why?) and then I could see the entrance.Up in the maountains....

@nyx - believe you need to go back to castle throne room. And just in case you want to go exploring for more goodies, make a separate save BEFORE you enter the castle to continue.
